To begin: upgrade, balance and align your mental, emotional and physical energy as in the Energy Awareness article. Once all three energy bodies are aligned, sense it as one energy body expanding several feet from your physical body. How does it feel? Expand it a little further and notice how that feels compared to when the energy was closer to your body. You have the ability to expand your energy to infinity, including everyone and everything as part of your infinite self. Technically your energy is already expanded to infinity, what you are learning here is to sense your expansive self; to become consciously aware of your infinite nature so that you can utilize it.
Notice the energy of your infinite self as it expands even further from your body. It expands in front, behind, to the left, to the right, above and below your physical body. It is not just an energy field, it is you. Get to know your expansive self by exploring the sensations, visuals, sounds and other experiences as you exist in front, behind, to the left, to the right, above and below your physical body. When you are finished exploring, sense your mental, emotional and physical bodies in their upgraded, balanced and aligned state, as in the Energy Awareness article. When you do this, your energy will be the correct distance from your physical body.
When you sense something, you focus your attention on it, which is a form of intention. This is why sensing your energy in its upgraded, balanced and aligned state makes it happen. Intention via sensing can be used in many ways. Tune into your mental, emotional and physical energy bodies, one at a time, while also feeling the joy that is present. As you feel the joy and stay with it, it will intensify. Do the same with the feelings of relaxation and then vigor/vitality. These can be very helpful if you have difficulty falling asleep at night, and/or feeling energized during the day.
The possible uses of sensing as intention are endless. I recommend you experiment, coming from a sense of playfulness, creativity and adventure. It will keep you from thinking too much about whether something is possible, and it will open you to more ideas about how to play with energy.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, here are a few activities you might try:
Increasing your attractiveness and desirability:
After upgrading, balancing and aligning your energy, notice all 3 energy bodies combined and sense the energy of your innate attractiveness/desirability. Don’t try to conceptualize or visualize what it should look or feel like, just let the energy present itself without any preconceived notions.
Another way to increase attractiveness/desirability is to use the same technique to sense the energy of your pheromones. This is a great approach if you have difficulty getting beyond limiting beliefs about your attractiveness and desirability and allowing the energy to just present itself. While you may not feel attractive or desirable, it is much easier to believe that you do have pheromones. And as you work with the energy of your pheromones and have good results, you will increase your experience of yourself as attractive and desirable. You might also notice that whether you work with it as attractiveness/desirability or as pheromones, it feels really good. Don’t be concerned if you feel turned on by your own energy; it is a sign that it is working. Enjoy it. Being comfortable with your own desirability is a good foundation for sharing it with a partner.
Sharing energy with a partner:
If you have a partner there are many ways to enjoy the energy together for healing, deepening intimacy, spiritual growth, and pleasure. I offer here one possibility that I hope will inspire you to create some of your own.
After you each upgrade, balance and align your mental, emotional and physical bodies, sit or lie comfortably together. Being back to back, front to front or spooning are the best choices: the more of your bodies in contact, the better. For this activity it is important that each person stays focused on their own energy as the foundation for exploration. Your own experience is primary, and the collective experience (what you and your partner create together) is secondary. This activity is not about sensing what is happening in the energy of your partner or about working with their energy. This activity teaches you how to use your own energy to enhance pleasure between you and your partner. If you are focused on the energy of your partner you miss the learning opportunity.
Take a few minutes to relax together, making sure your bodies are in a comfortable position. Then, when you are ready, tune into your expansive self and sense your energy far enough around you that it also includes your partner. Note- “you” refers to both people doing this activity. Your energies will be overlapping as if you are both together in a bubble. Feel the entire bubble as if it is all your own energy, then when you are able to do this easily and comfortably, sense the energy as the union of your own energy and that of your partner. In other words, feel the overlap you have created together. Alternate between feeling the energy as your expansive self and as the overlap. For this activity, it is important to be able to distinguish between the two.
Once you can tell the difference between the two experiences, feel it as your own expansive self and then sense the experience of joy in your energy. Let it build and then notice how it feels as the overlap, the union between you and your partner. How has the overlap experience changed? What have you created together as you each experienced joy in your own expansive energies? Try the activity again using love instead of joy. When you feel complete with the activity, relax together while you each sense your individual energies in their upgraded, balanced and aligned state.
With practice and over time, you will be able to share/intensify most any quality with a partner, including pleasure. Although it may be tempting to start with pleasure first, I recommend you start with joy and love first because they help build intimacy, communication and trust, which makes it easier to experience pleasure, especially at the very deep levels that can be generated by this activity.
This leads me to an important point about this activity: the experience of doing this activity with a partner leads to changes not only while doing this activity, but in your relationship with each other on an everyday basis and in your relationship with yourself. After finishing the activity and sensing your individual energy, you might discover that it does not feel like it did before. That is okay, it means your energy has changed as a result of the activity. You still have a upgraded, balanced and aligned state, it is just different than it was before. Your sense of self is not contingent on things always being the same; it is present regardless of what happens. This, I believe, may be the most important teaching of energy awareness because it leads to a sense of empowerment and peace that transcends change and allows you to look at life as a playground of possibilities to explore and enjoy.
